HISTORY
Prominent owner mangers and senior executives, in Karachi, formed management Association of Pakistan, the prime organization in private sector, devoted to promoting professional management, in 1967. It celebrated its silver jubilee in 1989 on which the President & Prime Minister sent their felicitations.



ORGANIZATION
M. A. P. has its headquarter at Karachi. An Executive Committee, having 14 elected members, directs its affairs. The decisions are implemented by secretariat headed by an Executive Director.

An Advisory Board, consisting of 12 elected members, supervises the Northern area affairs. A Regional Director heads its office at Lahore and he organizes activities for the Punjab and N. W. F. P.

There are plans to open chapters at other industrial & commercial cities.

SERVICES

M. A. P.provides following facilities.

A) TRIENNIAL CONVENTION

Inaugurated by the President of Pakistan, the event provides opportunity for delegates on national and interional level, exchange views on the selected theme. The theme for 1992 was Self-Reliance.

B) TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Lectures, Seminars, Package Programs, Film conferences, Panel discussions, Business games etc. on management and other relevant subjects are organized on an average, twice a month. Endeavor is made not to duplicate efforts of similar institutions but supplement them.
C) LUNCHEON MEETINGS

Local & Foreign experts, dignitaries and govt. functionaries are invited to apprise them of problems faced by the business community. The member’s get an occasion to hear the exposition of various polices.

D) READERS SERVICE

The secretariat circulates articles from known authorities on various subjects among the members.

E) PLACEMENT SERVICE

Qualified and experienced personnel are advised about job opportunities and their availability is made known to the members.

F) CORPORATE EXCELLENCE AWARD

The annual “Corporate Excellence Award and five “Excellence Certificates” for best performance of companies, based on their compound assets growth, growth in equity, return on equity/funds and ratio of market value to book value, as adjudged by a highly experienced team, provides a healthy competitations.

G) GOLD MEDAL AWARD

A gold medal is awarded every year each to the student showing best performance in management and best students qualifying for BBA honours from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi University. There is a plan to install a similar medal for Lahore.
